Pajama Mama

What is the first thing that most people do when they come home from work?

They put on something super comfy.  Yoga pants, sweats, pajamas.

Well, I work from home, run errands to fancy places like Wal-Mart, drop off and pick up the kids from school, and other non-dressy activities.

For me, life is about comfort and being happy.

My family makes me happy.  My friends make me happy.  And when I look down at whatever funky pajama bottoms I am wearing that day that makes me happy.

At Christmas time, I dropped the kids off at school and remembered I had to pick up a package at FedEx.  I looked down and was wearing my reindeer pajama bottoms.  When I left the house that morning it was supposed to be drop off the kids, swing by Mickey Dees for my necessary start to the day, a large Coke, and head home.  Oh well, I had to get the package.

On the way home I decided that since it was Christmas time I would wear my Christmas pajamas every day to encourage folks to get into the holiday spirit.

A couple days later I went into the grocery store and one of the produce guys told me he liked my pajamas.  I thanked him and told him I was wearing it for the holidays.  He said the most amazing thing to me.

Produce Guy:  You know you can wear pajama bottoms all year?

Me:  Really?

Produce Guy:  Yes.  Do you know why?

Me:  No.  Why?

Produce Guy:  Because YOU CAN!

Holy shit, he’s right.  I CAN wear them and I WILL wear them.
