So, it’s
family picture time or wedding photos or engagement photos or just plain old
couple photos. Do you do this pose? And if so, why?
Thomas and
I are unable to look deeply into each other’s eyes without busting a gut. Every time we try one of us says, “I love
you. I love you so much.” And then the
other one says, “No, I love you. I love
YOU so much.” And then we die laughing.
Can
anybody do it with a straight face and, if you can, what the hell are you
thinking about to keep from laughing? Your
dog dying? Your brand new car getting
keyed? The Seahawks losing Super Bowl
XL, f’ing refs? We cannot do it. If you can, applause to you.
Now Vince
Gill and Amy Grant have got it going on.
Their love is pure and everlasting, you can just tell by their
meaningful looks.
This pose
has a name and description:
“Intimate Look” (Standing)
“A casual portrait with the couple
staring into each other’s eyes meaningfully. This can be taken in either
profile or from the point of view of one of the subjects. Expression can be
either serious or smiling.”
Yah, Thomas and I look at each other
meaningfully. You know like the
dictionary says,
Adv.
|
1.
|
meaningfully
- in a meaningful manner; so as to be meaningful; "He glanced at her
meaningfully".
|
That definition used meaningful to
define meaningfully two times.
Seriously?
For Thomas and I, we like to use the
word meaningfully as stolen from a line in the book “A Dead Liberty” by
Catherine Aird, especially when gazing into each other’s eyes (meaningfully).
“She served him chili con carne," said Sloan
meaningfully.
And then we go get tacos because now we are in the mood for
Mexican food.
