The Dragon

In 1993 I began the “Wheel of Time” series by Robert Jordan.  The first book was published on January 15, 1990.  Tonight I hold the last book, the 14th, in the best series I have ever read, in my hands.

After 22 yrs, 11 months and 24 days since the beginning; 11,916 pages; and 4,056,130 words, I must ask myself if I can make it the last 164 pages before I can no longer see or the alarm goes off to start a new day.  I will make it.

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend.  Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.  In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist.  The wind was not the beginning.  There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time.  But it was A beginning.”

Thank you, Robert Jordan.
